Gaining visibility into your organization, a case study of Flow+

Mario Leijen, from Niva Liften elevator company, has chosen the guidance of Flow+. In periodic sessions, relevant issues are addressed in the “World of the Entrepreneur” framework. Specifically, Mario sought to better understand what was happening within his organization. He was curious to know if employees see the organization in the same way he does.

Flow+ Quick Scan

Flow+ supported Mario in answering the question of what’s happening within his organization, by conducting a Quick Scan among all employees. This initially involved a written survey of about 50 questions, aligned with the components of the “World of the Entrepreneur.” Questions covered leadership, strategy and policy, employee management, and results. Subsequently, two Flow+ guides conducted one-on-one interviews with all employees based on survey results to add depth to the answers.

Feedback to the entrepreneur and employees

The Flow+ partners analyzed results from the surveys and interviews, and shared the insights with Mario and his employees. Mario first viewed the presentation within a structured format:

  • Core values: What are the core elements of the Niva Liften culture?
  • Areas of concern: What do employees care about?
  • Survey correlation: How survey results relate to interview results.

Next, the Flow+ team delivered the presentation to all Niva Liften employees. This allowed them to see their contributions as well as what was happening within the organization as a whole. Mario and his Flow+ partner further addressed the outcomes from the Flow+ Quick Scan and feedback during basecamp sessions, where they continued to address action items on an ongoing basis.

Results

Thanks to the efforts of Flow+, Mario gained valuable insight into his employees’ concerns. “I was pleasantly surprised by the way our core values emerged so strongly from the Quick Scan. We had never explicitly discussed them with each other, but now we have refined them and can align our future policies better. There were no major surprises in the results of the Flow+ Quick Scan, signaling that I have a good understanding of my company’s internal dynamics. The results confirm I am on the right track with my team and that everyone is highly committed to the company. However, some clear needs surfaced, which I will continue to work on with my employees and Flow+ partners in the coming months.”
